Understanding Odds & Spreads
Prediction markets price outcomes between 0 and 100 (representing probability). However, different platforms display this differently. Oraclyst normalizes everything.
The Normalized View:
Price: Displayed in cents ($0.00 to $1.00).
Probability: Displayed as a percentage (0% to 100%).
The Spread: The "Spread" in Oraclyst refers to the difference between the Buy Price of an outcome and the Sell Price of that same outcome, potentially across different venues.
Venue Spread: The difference between the highest bid and lowest ask on a single platform.
Cross-Venue Spread (Arbitrage): The difference between the price of "YES" on Venue A and the price of "NO" on Venue B.
Rule of Thumb: If
Price(Venue A, YES) + Price(Venue B, NO) < $1.00, an arbitrage opportunity exists. Oraclyst highlights these in Gold.
